🕹️Quest'app nasce da una scintilla — il tintinnio delle monete in tasca, il bagliore di un CRT che brucia attraverso il fumo, la musica troppo alta, il mondo fuori troppo lontano.

🕹️This app was born from a spark — the clinking of coins in the pocket, the glow of a CRT burning through the smoke, the music too loud, the world outside too far away.

👾A fine anni '80 e inizio '90, ogni giocatore sognava di portare quell'universo a casa. Il Neo Geo ci è riuscito — audace, impossibile, bellissimo. Era la magia della sala giochi intrappolata in una scatola nera.

👾In the late '80s and early '90s, every player dreamed of bringing that universe home. The Neo Geo did it — bold, impossible, beautiful. It was arcade magic trapped in a black box.

Quali sono i requisiti?What are the requirements?

macOS 14.6 Sonoma o successivo, solo Apple Silicon (i Mac Intel non sono supportati). Consigliati 8 GB di RAM (16 GB per librerie molto grandi) e circa 500 MB per l'app, più lo spazio per ROM e immagini.

No, NeoArcadeX non include, ospita né scarica ROM, BIOS, chiavi o firmware. Devi usare i tuoi file, e sei responsabile di ciò che importi. L'app ti guida nell'importazione dei BIOS.

No. NeoArcadeX does not include, host or download ROMs, BIOS files, keys or firmware. You use your own files and you are responsible for what you import. The app guides you through BIOS import.

Devo installare RetroArch?Do I need to install RetroArch?

RetroArch è il motore di emulazione. NeoArcadeX lo installa e installa i core necessari per te, scaricandoli da libretro.com quando lo richiedi.

RetroArch is the emulation engine. NeoArcadeX installs it and the cores you need for you, downloading them from libretro.com when you ask.

Cosa è gratis e cosa richiede Premium?What is free and what needs Premium?

Libreria, scansione, riconoscimento dei sistemi, lancio dei giochi, media locali, backup e iCloud sono sempre gratis, e non bloccano mai la libreria. Premium sblocca download automatico dei media, schede complete, badge, manuali, preferiti, statistiche, ricerca AI e diagnostica. I primi 15 giochi hanno schede e badge completi come anteprima.

Library, scanning, system detection, launching games, local media, backup and iCloud are always free and never lock your library. Premium unlocks automatic media download, complete sheets, badges, manuals, favourites, statistics, AI search and diagnostics. The first 15 games get full sheets and badges as a preview.

Come funziona la licenza Premium?How does the Premium licence work?

Paghi una volta sola su Gumroad (€9,99) e ricevi via email una chiave di licenza. La incolli nell'app e premi Attiva: l'app contatta una volta il server delle licenze, che la lega al tuo Mac, e da lì in poi funziona offline. Niente account, niente abbonamenti.

You pay once on Gumroad (€9.99) and receive a licence key by email. You paste it into the app and press Activate: the app contacts the licence server once, which binds it to your Mac, and from then on it works offline. No account, no subscriptions.

Posso usare la licenza su più Mac? E se cambio computer?Can I use the licence on several Macs? What if I change computer?

Una chiave vale per 2 dei tuoi Mac. Per spostarla, apri la finestra della licenza sul vecchio Mac e premi «Rimuovi licenza» (libera il posto, serve internet). Se il vecchio Mac non c'è più, scrivi a support@neoarcadex.com e libero i posti io.

One key is valid for 2 of your Macs. To move it, open the licence window on the old Mac and press “Remove licence” (it frees the slot, internet needed). If the old Mac is gone, write to support@neoarcadex.com and I will free the slots.

Posso condividere la chiave con altri?Can I share the key with others?

No: è personale e dopo 2 Mac il server rifiuta altre attivazioni. Una chiave pubblicata online viene revocata (non si possono più fare nuove attivazioni). Ti chiedo di rispettarlo: NeoArcadeX è il lavoro di una sola persona.

No: it is personal, and after 2 Macs the server refuses further activations. A key posted online gets revoked (no new activations). Please respect that: NeoArcadeX is the work of one person.

Come vengo avvisato degli aggiornamenti?How will I know about updates?

All'avvio l'app controlla (al massimo una volta al giorno) se esiste una versione nuova e te lo dice con un avviso; puoi anche usare «Cerca aggiornamenti…» nel menu NeoArcadeX. Per aggiornare scarichi il nuovo DMG da questa pagina e sostituisci l'app in Applicazioni: libreria, impostazioni e licenza restano. Il controllo si spegne in Impostazioni.

At launch the app checks (at most once a day) whether a newer version exists and tells you with a notice; you can also use “Check for Updates…” in the NeoArcadeX menu. To update, download the new DMG from this page and replace the app in Applications: your library, settings and licence are kept. The check can be turned off in Settings.

Serve un account ScreenScraper?Do I need a ScreenScraper account?

Nessuna analitica, tracciamento o profilazione. L'unico server di NeoArcadeX serve ad attivare la licenza Premium, una sola volta: riceve la chiave e un codice anonimo del tuo Mac, non il tuo nome né il tuo IP. Una volta al giorno, all'avvio, l'app legge il file pubblico version.json del sito per avvisarti degli aggiornamenti (si può spegnere). Gli altri servizi esterni (ScreenScraper, Wikidata, Gemini) sono contattati solo quando usi la funzione corrispondente. Dettagli nella pagina Privacy.
